Donald Trump signed an executive order entitled “Ending Illegal Discrimination and Restoring Merit-Based Opportunity” that terminates DEI and DEIA policies. It also states that the “purpose of this order is to ensure that it does so by ending illegal preferences.”

However, Pete Hegseth, the Secretary of Defense, hired his brother Pete Hegseth as a liaison and senior adviser at The Pentagon.The AP reported that a “1967 federal nepotism law prohibits government officials from hiring, promoting or recommending relatives to any civilian position over which they exercise control. An image of an office organizational chart obtained by The Associated Press shows Phil Hegseth in a small group of officials directly beneath his brother, with Phil Hegseth labeled as a senior adviser to the defense secretary.” Sounds like the very illegal preference the executive order was supposed to stop.

Racists are against DEI. Fascists are against the rule of law. Donald Trump is both.
